The Gnomes are a race of beings that can be described as human-like but with some differences. Sometimes the same size, and sometimes taller than humans; they might or may not have pointy ears like elves do! The males run their own monarchy established over all others in charge–the King (or Queen) governs his/her people by law while other politicians make decisions based on what’s best for him/herself instead.
Are Smurfs and Gnomes the Same?
Gnomes are a race of diminutive humanlike creatures, the same size as Smurfs and sometimes taller. What are the Smurfs based on?
The Smurfs are actually based on a group of elves that appeared in comic books. The first appearance was by Peyo, when he created “The Gift for the Fairy” as part of his job with La Compagnie Belg D’Actualités and later wrote about them again during a World War II sequence that ran under the title – Les Schtroumpfs auxquels il manque les doigts (literally translated: The dwarfish smurf-like creatures without fingers).
